Give Away

Today is the day you may or may not have been waiting for. I'm having my first give away which will run through Sunday, Feb 7 (my granddaughter's birthday). The rules are simple: comment here and post it on your blog. Everyone gets one chance and the winners will be drawn using a random number generator. Please sign your comment with your first name last initial and leave your blog address. I'll come pay you a visit and get to meet new people. The First Prize is this hot off the presses book by Bonnie Hunter a signed copy. If you are not familiar with her you can find her at http://www.quiltville.com/. Second prize will be this kit for a useful item to use in your sewing room - you provide your favorite fabric everything else is included. Last, but not least, will be 4 flannel fat quarters in fall colors.

Let the fun begin and if you are new to this blog please take the time to read the post on January 13 this year about the chocolate cake question and then place your vote on the poll to the right. If you feel so inclined let us know how you voted and why. Only if you want to.

Congratulations Anita, on over 100 posts, and you did it while dealing with selling a house and a move. I voted on chocolate cake being determined by the cake, otherwise I would have to call it chocolate icing.

Congratulation on 100th post. I voted for a chocolate in the actual cake but to me a chocolate cake is not a chocolate cake unless it's chocolate all the way....icing and cake. I might be a minority there but that's my 2 cents. Now, thanks for having the giveaway. Please come visit me. I have enjoyed your blog and I will be back....

Happy Birthday to your granddaughter...

Thank you for the chance to win this great book. A chocolate cake is not chocolate without chocolate everywhere. Frsoting included.

Your giveaway is wonderful!! I had Bonnie over the other day and she was fresh out of the books so I wasn't able to get a copy. How fun it would be to win one and show her! Hee!!

I voted chocolate cake with any icing..but really a chocolate cake is Chocolate cake with chocolate icing! All chocolate and best if it is rich and DARK.

I would point at the cake and say "What kind of cake it that with the chocolate icing on it?" If the baker says "chocolate cake" then AND ONLY THEN would I say "give me that chocolate cake"

So sorry that Carl is WRONG!

oh, and thanks for a chance at the giveaway!
Happy birthday to your granddaughter.

Hello - congratulations on 100 posts. I voted for a chocolate cake being cake with any icing. If I bought a cake with chocolate icing in the store and got home and there was no chocolate inside I would be sad.
I don't have a blog to share with you - sorry. But I can imagine that I do... It would be called 'My cup overflows' and I would post about the many blessings in my life including the great fun I have making bibs for when my kids cups overflow as well as posts about my many other sewing adventures! Does that count?
Have a great weekend!! : )

To those in the minority about the chocolate cake, I will pray that some day you see the true meaning of a chocolate cake. Hee hee hee. For some reason I feel like having chocolate cake. I know I wouldn't ask Mr. Owen for a chocolate cake, who knows what I would get. ;o)
Good job on your blog being a success. Love catching up on the news. Margaret O.
