Quilts for Oklahoma

I'm sure some of you have family in the Oklahoma City area. I have a brother and sister-in-law and 4 nephews and their familes in and around Oklahoma City. They are all fine and didn't suffer any damage that I know of. Bonnie Hunter from Quiltville.com has been contacted and asked to spread the word to any quilters and bloggers who would like to donate quilts and or blankets to send them to:

 Ship to:

OK Quilt Drive,
 c/o Ellen Medlock Studio Store,
10032 S. Sheridan Rd, Suite H-1,
Tulsa, OK 74133.

(We will be happy to place any kind of blanket, for that matter!)"

You can read the whole post at the following:

Anything you can do will be appreciated. I can't even begin to imagine losing everything I own, kids, pets etc and having to start over at my age. Thank you for any help you can give.

Design Wall Monday

This is a Block of the Month I did a few years ago when we lived in WA. The Shibori Dragon also did it by mail so every month I rec'd enough fabric to make two blocks. I finally uncovered it a couple of weeks ago so I have been looking at it and making changes to placement while trying to figure what kind of borders I'd like to put on it. Hopefully, sometime this summer I will finally get my design wall up on the wall where I can see things better while I'm thinking. This one needs some work. See what everyone else is up to over at Patchwork Times.

Lone Star Quilt

Today I started a new quilt using the Quilt Smart 58" Lone Star.

The Picture doesn't do the colors justice. So here is a close up of the colors. The cream with gold color is a Robert Kaufmann and the rest of the fabrics are Hoffman's challenge fabrics.
I fell in love with the fabrics as soon as I saw them. If they weren't so expensive I would have bought more of them. I'm trying to decide what color would look good for the background. If I could find it I think I would like a light butter yellow which would set it off. I guess when I go back to Twin Falls I'll have to take this with me and audition some fabrics. Anyone have ideas of what they think would look good as a background?
