Here is the baby quilt finished and ready to mail on Tuesday. Once I finished the quilt I spent all day researching my husband's family. His 4th cousin once removed sent me some information and I found a site on the internet that lists tons of his relatives. My mind is numb. His family has been in NC for over 200 years. My brother has been looking into our family, but I don't think we have that kind of history in one place. So tomorrow I work on the two graduation quilts I have to get in the mail the first week of June. So I guess I'd better get some sleep.

Family Trees
My husband showed me the newspaper clipping yesterday while he was going through some paperwork. This is his paternal grandfather, grandmother and their children. I've always been interested in his family history and I am going to try and find out some of their history. My daughter recently asked about her dad's family and I couldn't tell her much. So I have joined a list and maybe I'll learn some of his history. I've always enjoyed history. My brother Tom is researching our family. He found out that our maternial grandfather was born in Oregon and as a young man, went back to the midwest by riding the rails, where he settled and where I always thought he was born. We'll see what fun things we can find out.

Newest Project
Here is a picture of my finished sweater. I took a class in Silverdale, at Linda's Knit and Stitch and finished the sweater the end of April. I have worn it a couple of times and it is very comfortable and warm. I'd like to make another one, maybe this time I'd add a cable or two. This is a picture of the first sweater I knitted while we were stationed in Iceland in (1970-74). I made it for my husband, but he doesn't wear sweaters so I wore it a few times -most of the time it is in a drawer. This was the first thing I ever knitted. Maybe this fall I'll try another sweater. I think next I will try some socks.

Another Baby Quilt
Here is a picture of another baby quilt I am making. It is for a customer who wanted a pink and blue quilt. It really looks pink to me. I find pink a color not easy to work with sometimes. Miss Emma was taking her nap on the couch so the wrinkle under the corner of the quilt is Emma. The quilt measures 45 x 45 and is the Double Irish Chain pattern. It took me about 6.5 - 7 hours to cut and piece the top. It will probably take me about an hour to quilt it. So now I am waiting to hear from the customer if the quilt is okay so I think I have earned some time to cut pieces for my Orange Crush quilt. Talk to you later.
